Michael DiPietro is a freelance commercial fabricator and designer specializing in soft goods, such as window treatments, home goods, custom sewing and upholstery projects. His work is marked by clean lines, strong attention to detail and explosive color. He has a wide knowledge of traditional handcraft techniques, carpentry skills, and experience with art matting, framing, and installation. Dipietro also creates visual art and performance. His work has been presented in various art spaces, collectives & organizations in New York including AUNTS (Mount Tremper Arts Summer 2015 Festival, Arts@Renaissance), chashama’s 1351, Flux Factory, Movement Research (Spring 2017 Festival), Silent Barn and Triskelion Arts; and has been supported with residencies through AUNTS, the Ace Hotel, and chashama. He has performed in work by Clarinda Mac Low, Katy Pyle, and Pascale Rambert. DiPietro holds a BFA in Integrated Design from Parsons the New School for Design (2010).
